With almost twenty years of experience in the economic development profession attaining successes in areas including: Business Retention and Expansion, Business Attraction, Retail Enhancement, Cluster Development, Expanded Business-to-Business sales activity, Strategic Planning, Tourism and Visitation Enhancement and Community Outreach. Communities served included extraction based industries in a small mining/ranching/lumbering town; a rural based regional economic development organization and an urban focused
high-tech area.
Private industry experience includes positions of responsibility in manufacturing, materials management, industrial engineering, accounting/finance and strategic planning. Specific industries worked in include computer mainframe manufacturing and development, defense products, automotive and aerospace.
Married for more than 47 years to Shirley with two adult aged children, Jeff II and Stephanie; and three grandchildren Connor, Griffin and Emily.
Educational accomplishments include and an MBA – Notre Dame University, BBA – Eastern Michigan University and designation as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).
